The lawsuit was part a larger effort by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence to expose unscrupulous gun dealers that ignore obvious warning signs and sell to customers with malicious intentions.
Another victim of the Brady campaign. First the victims were killed by a gun free zone, now unscrupulous lobbyists have pulled them into legal trouble they probably won't be able to handle.

I feel for them. First they loose their daughter to a mad man, then they are bamboozled by the Brady Campaign into believing that this lawsuit is a slam dunk and that they will receive all sorts of money while punishing those who helped to kill their daughter (I understand this last part is not true). Now, the lawsuit is thrown out and the family finds out they were given horrible legal advice. On top of that, they find out that they may well be liable for legal costs from the people they were trying to sue. I do believe they were stupid and they should have looked into this more themselves, but I do feel sorry for them.

If I were them I would find a good lawyer and sue the Brady Campaign for giving poor advice and for not supporting them in paying the legal bills. I would not sue for more than the legal costs, well, for the legal costs plus about a third to cover the lawyer fees, but no more. I doubt they will do this, though. I would be gun shy (no pun intended) about lawsuits after being dinged for a quarter mil.

I'll bet the victim's family wouldn't have sued at all if it were not for prompting by the antis...

My God I would LOVE to see the Brady Bunch be forced by a court to pay $280K for their frivolous lawsuit!

Not only is Luck Gunner to be reimbursed for legal fees, it is the Brady Campaign that is being told to foot the bill. They are appealing and hopefully they will lose that as well. This is a good day. It will be a great day if law and Constitution continue to be upheld by the Appeals Courts.

I got an email from AZCDL ( Arizona Citizens defence league) asking me to take a poll posted by Lucky Gunner, apparently they are going to donate their re-imbursment to the organization that gets the most votes

I have a hard time feeling sorry for the family that signed up for this lawsuit, primarily due to the fact that they are trying to take away our rights. I do understand their need to blame somebody though, I can only imagine what it must be like to lose a family member in such a senseless act of violence. At the same time though, they must be willing to accept the consequences of their actions, by filing this frivolous lawsuit. Personally I feel that the Brady Campaign should pay half of it, and the family should pay for the other half.

Agree. Would you guys gave sympathy if they won, and put an ammo business out? And set a bad precident for future anti gun lawsuits? Fuck them. Blame the shooter, no one else. Wonder if this same family is upset at our bastard in charge for fast and furious, as he did something worse in actually KNOWINGLY selling weapons to violent criminals to destroy the 2nd. Would love to hear their opinion on that.

Fuck them. They and the Brady bunch should split the legal bill. Be smarter, or have to work harder.

Another vote for the SAF. They've been steamrolling through the courts and have been responsible for most of the ground we've gained back.

Also if you are an Amazon customer, you can sign up for Amazon Smile and pick a charity or cause to contribute to. I have picked the SAF.

BTW, I don't have any sympathy for anyone who doesn't learn from a bad experience including the family that was dinged with the legal fees.
