    Pre-1990 vs Postban

Ok all you experts, does a preban firearm (pre 1990) have to be 922r compliant if you change any of it's features-that is, adding a folding stock, or otherwise changing it's original configuration?
I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.

Are you referring to the '89 ban ?

If so, no. 922r has no effect. You can add all the evil made foreign parts you want.
Here's to pussy and gunpowder. One to live for, the other to die by.....Goddamn though, I do love the smell of 'em both !!!

If it was in country BEFORE the passage of 922R then no. I have pre 1989 EBRs (foreign) that ATF can't bitch about.

Yep, pre-Bush the First-ban rifles do not have to meet the silly parts count rules. You can have all the evil foreign parts you want.
