    Galil Scope Mounts

I bid & didn't get an original IMI scope mount today. There is something coming up tomorrow I want more...

I'm looking at these now: http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.ph...roducts_id=399

    Anyone try one?

Let us know how it works. Looks like a good affordable option if it works ok.
I have a Golani and I've been looking at options for a mount. I've been considering taping the side of my receiver and using a screw on mount for an AK. If this mount works for you I might try one myself.

What I've read so far is the Golani (I have two) has to have the handguard removed to install the mount, but it looks like you can still use the iron sights with it so it doesn't have to come off. I'm curious to see if it works with my converted Hadar. That would be nice since the .308 could use a larger glass.

I don't much care for the one you linked to. Way too long gonna get vibration, looks like you'll need an allen wrench to attach (another tool) and still have to remove hand guard to make it fit, no thanks.
I'd go quick release but be careful with the after market stuff. I did a thread on the old site about the one I got. Very nice and inexpensive but somebody goofed on there design. It pointed up about three degrees after mounted and sat too high. I was able to cut it down and re angle it and it turned out real well but would rather get something that was right from the start.

This guy seemed to come across the same one

Mine was advertised as Leapers but I found no name or any markings on it

No need for all that the rifle already has a nice slot for mounting

I bid on this one a dropped out when it went to $150:

    Now I'm looking at Blackthorne's:

They only run $35 and are USA made from Aircraft Aluminum. In doing some research I've found it said they require the handguard to be removed to mount them; so much for "quick connect". They do seen stable and as long as I can still use the iron sights it should be a good mount. I really wanted the original for a low power or red dot on the Golani .223s, but this should do for the .308 converted Hadar. If it works good I might do all three rifles. I've been keeping one of the Golanis as the bedroom rifle with 6 loaded 35 orlites.

When the hell are we going to get some more orlites reasonable? I have enough I guess Galil mags except .308 25s but would like to have more orlites. I like the quiet factor.
