    Alaskan BATFE Bound Book-Grab Update

Posted on April 6, 2012 by Ammoland

Anchorage, AK --(Ammoland.com)- Great Northern Guns in Anchorage, Alaska was asked to give up their “Bound Book” to a BATFE Agent so it could be copied.

The Bound Book is a complete record of all firearms transactions by the FFL holder.

They are not required by law to do so and they refused. In fact this would be a violation of FOPA. (Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986)

maybe they were going to try to smuggle guns to eskimos in Canada?

The power this administration is exerting is disturbing.

repost from the USS from a freind of mine that lives in alaska.

"this is another case of some one reporting **** with out knowing the facts.

Ok there has been a rather messed up case going on here in Alaska for the last year or so. This ****ing idiot name Shaffer Cox and some of his buddy's we really off the deep end. ya know saying that they were revoking their own US citizen ship, planning to over throw the govt, and planning to kill a bunch of LEO's judges, lawyers (who would have really missed the liars err lawyers though). and other things of this nature. The fellows were also recruiting people all the time. I think they had like 30 folks on board or something. Problem was a lot of these folks were not able to buy weapons as they were felons. So Mr. Cox went and bought a ton of em for em. ya know the whole straw purchase thing. These guys also have illegally modified weapons, (full auto with no tax stamp) home made suppressors, and a extremely large amount of home brewed explosives. (I dont recall the exact amount but it was a ton) So as part of the Discovery the state and feds have asked for these records on the folks involved in the case in all anchorage and Fairbanks shops. Nothing more then that. And It is perfectly fine in my book. While I may disagree with the goberment from time to time these folks were just plain nutz-o."

now, had teh feds asked for information specifically related to the above individuals, thats kosher. asking for teh whole bound book? no way.

ATF tells Alaska Congressman it broke no laws

    Anthony Martin
    Conservative Examiner

In a breaking follow up to a previous story concerning possible violations of federal law by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) in Alaska, the ATF has written an official letter to an Alaska Congressman stating that it broke no laws.

U.S. Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, sent a letter to the ATF in April inquiring about reports that agents had visited numerous gun stores in the state asking that they turn over their "bound book" containing the names of customers and their purchases.
