It's not Peterbuilt's fault. Design students are just stupid enough to slack on research sometimes. They'll make something that looks cool without considering functionality, which is pretty much the opposite workflow of the job they are studying for.

That aint no kidding. At least the first one is on par with the aerodynamics trends for design. It may stand a chance in that department but i'm betting the artist was more interested in cool looking.
Not for a living at these current fuel prices he would'nt. It would break his wallet in short order. That has the aerodynamics of a ball of silly putty wraped around a brick.
Might make an interesting semi-retro RV chassis though. If you have the money for the truck in the first place then the price of fuel and MPG average is not likely to be something you'll give a damn about anyways.

I was thinking more for a parade/display vehicle. I hate to think what the sight line is from the cab of the highway with that split windshield and long nose. It sure would catch a lot of attention at the truck stop though. You'd need a fire hose to clean up all the road debris from that scooped in front end under the front grill.
