Resident-president barry prepares to dispatch troops to perhaps 35 countries.......

I cannot say .......'and so it begins.......so I'll just say......'and so it continues'.

    We are BROKE.
If the past is any guide what we start small GROWS.
With troops in 35 African nations there is more than ample opportunity for GROWTH.

More US troops will be killed due to insane restrictions pertaining to Rules of Engagement.

New Pentagon effort will send Army teams to Africa as terror threat grows

WASHINGTON – A U.S. Army brigade will begin sending small teams into as many as 35 African nations early next year, part of an intensifying Pentagon effort to train countries to battle extremists and give the U.S. a ready and trained force to dispatch to Africa if crises requiring the U.S. military emerge.

The teams will be limited to training and equipping efforts, and will not be permitted to conduct military operations without specific, additional approvals from the secretary of defense.

"How do you train for that in a way that would be applicable wherever they go?" said Dempsey, a retired Army colonel. He said he's not sure using a combat brigade is the right answer, but added, "I'm not sure what the answer is. The security challenges differ so dramatically that, to be honest, I really don't think it's feasible to have a continental training package."

Seems president barry is not mentioned any where in the article. Probably the Pentagon is moving to war in 35 counties without barry's approval....yeah right.

Wow that's unfathomable. Our guys are too spread out and too fatigued. I'm ready to get them back here. Funny how the anti-war people wouldn't tolerate a war on two fronts, but a war on multiple fronts is acceptable.

I heard on Becks radio show a couple months ago that the US military has a presence in 75 countries. This does not include embassy or consulate security. Adding 35 more to the list sounds like a bad idea to me.

It's just another way to weaken the US so we won't be able to halt any invasion if/when it occurs. Obamination isn't done with all the damage he can cause yet. We're still too strong; our military may be stretched right now, but it can still do the job; our citizens are still armed and stand in the way of socialist control; our economy is still strong enough to rebound if given a chance; ad infinitum.

Once we have been weakened on all fronts will a Communist/Socialist takeover ever stand a chance of succeeding.

Give him time...(He might be able to do it in the next 4 years.)

It makes sense to me! He knows he does not have the military support so send enough of them out of the country so he can shred the rest of our rights.

Same thing they said for Vietnam.

    Yup.

What's bothers me most is having to get permission from Sec Def to do anything. The pols will protect themselves while troops die.

You know something the regime has to do before it can make a grab for defacto totalitarian power is that they have to remove as many patriotic oath abiding servicemembers from their way as possible. And if things get tough for the regime anyway we should expect the regime to call in its nau/spp partners militaries to help the regime.

"Canada, U.S. agree to use each other’s troops in civil emergencies

Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other’s borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal."

Pretty sure Mehico also has a similar agreement with the regime.

Yep, funny how history repeats itself, i guess no one remembers the Army advisers that were in Vietnam in the early 60s, my dad was one of them. After Iran, he was stateside for 3 years and then sent to help train the south Vietnamese army

    I don't know...

Cut funding by 1/3, increase demand by 1/2...

Sounds like perfect obamanomics to me.

Do any of you guys seriously think anything would have been different had Romney won?

The only man who could have prevented this ugly trend only got 1% of the vote. Did you vote for him?

Think about that for awhile before you complain.

We've had "advisors" in a slew of countries for decades. Some of the Green Berets I know including family members spent time in Libya, Iraq, Jordan, etc. Of course that was in the 70's and 80's but they were in half the countries in Africa at one time or another. This might be a little different but it's not really new.

This is a job for Army Special Forces in the main. We don't have enough SF to fill the new demand.

Of all the lies the congress tells us, that the defense budget WILL BE CUT is probably the truth.

So I see increasing demand for specialized troops in the face of a declining defense budget.
