    MINI14 Mods?

I have a couple of mini 14's that I want to smooth out the FCG on.
I found shim kits, spring and hammer kits and Timney trigger kits
Question: Do the shim and hammer kits really make that much of
a difference that they are worth buying? I'd like a little first hand
knowledge up front before I waste money doing something that
won't improve accuracy. Any advise would be appreciated.

Sorry, though I had a mini14 I never modified it until I sold it.

My advice is to bed the receiver area first and see how it shoots. Remove the action/receiver from the stock - apply lots of release agent!! Apply bedding compouind (I used accuracy in a jar IIRC - epoxy type) put the receiver back in but don't lock it down... after it dries, clean it up and lock the action in. This eliminates the shifting in the stock that can ocurre and degrade accuracy.

Worked for my 97 produced mini.
