Hi all,
First of I want to say hello, and compliment all of you on the nice forum you guys have here. This is my first post BTW.
After searching the forum I couldn't find answers to fit my specific questions.
I have just recently aquired a wasr 10/63 rifle. Looks like the year stamped on it is 85, that's the last two of the serial at least. It has the ground off bayo lug/tack welded thread protector on the barrel. Also it says tapco on the trigger, I hear that's important.
What I want to do is:
Install East German furniture (full stock, pistol grip and all)( not wire folder)
Remove the barrel thread protector and install something cooler (slant brake or ak74 style)
Install a new gas block with a unmolested bayo lug
All while using Bakelite mags (maybe)
So what do I have to do to stay legal, from what I understand I already have a USA fire control, but I don't know what else C.I.A changed to make them legal and I don't really want to just jump in without knowing what I can and can't do.
Hope this makes sense, I can take pictures if needed.
Thanks!
