    That black plastic stock set looks weird. Was that ever standard? My Type 84s had the orangish Chinese Cratewood stocks.

    I have only seen a few in person over the years. I would guess they are not so common

    It was just standard for that type they imported. Those were the early ones that came in before they went to the wood.

    The black plastic set with a longer butt-stock was standard on the 84S-3A variant. The standard 84S was imported with the normally seen wood stock set, but it too could have been ordered with either black or orange plastic as well, but as far as I know, no 84S was imported that way. They were also available in three barrel lengths, I don't think the "pay the blackmail fee" 14 inch was imported, we all know the 16 as standard, but it was also available with a 19 inch barrel.
