This bill will die in committee, but its just amazing how they will keep trying and pushing and never give up despite countless legal defeats. Some feel this is push back over the new concealed carry law that they are mad as hornets over.

Sort of, sort of not. FOID registers the owner, not the firearm. What I find extra insidious about this new bill is that in order to buy ammo you must demonstrate that you own a registered firearm that matches the ammo. So if you have an "off the books" gun you can't get ammo for it unless you have more than one in the same caliber I suppose. Typical commie logic...full of holes.

I would suggest moving just a little south and east but the weather in Indiana hasn't been much better than the Windy City. At least Indiana recognizes the second amendment with only the federal mandates and here you have to pay a one time tax to carry a handgun, and the only other true infringements is a ban on short shotties

There are two factors keeping me here right now. I lost equity when the bubble burst in the housing market. Its slowly creeping back but I can't sell for what I paid. I know sell low buy low, but I need the downstroke. Second is the wife's job. Just a couple more years and she will be fully vested. If the planets line up in a few years I'm thinking Kentucky or Tennessee.

Yes if you're going to expend the energy to move, move down south where we don't get as cold and NFA ownership is friendly to make happen. It took my Sheriff less than 2 business days to sign off on my form 4's.
