Thumbs up New offerings from S&W

Read about these in the latest G&A. I like a couple of them but the others not so much.

Probably my favorite of the new ones:

    A couple of 9mm revolvers, 7 & 8 shot.

    An L Frame 44mag.

Don't believe I've every paid MSRP for a S&W or any other gun. Street price is probably 20% less but that may be two rich for many. Older guns in nice condition are selling at or higher than new ones so you're gonna pay regardless if you're in the market.

The model 629 slightly interests me, the others ... not so much. Wheel guns just seem obsolete for the most part.

20% seems about right, knock off a 100 and that is still high dollar. Dad gum you can get a Bushmaster AR-15 for 900.00$. But it always comes down to what the individual wants, don't get me wrong I wouldn't turn it down if I wanted it.

Meh, i'm not buying another smith & wesson revolver until they come back with the 610, preferably the unfluted cylinder with a 3'' barrel with wood grips...hint, hint.

    Thumbs up

Hey, I can take a hint.

Talk about high prices for revolvers. I haven't checked in a while but if you could find one like this NIB the price would be outrageous. I paid $750 for this one, I don't remember how many years ago and bet I could just about double my money today.

If I owned it and I could get $1500 for it, that sucker would be GONE!

I will buy my daughter a handgun when she moves out, and it will probably be a revolver. The reasons for this are ease of operation and ease of care. She has told me that she would not mind cleaning a revolver because you don't have to take it apart. She has helped me clean my pistols and field stripping them makes her uncomfortable, all the small parts and springs. I think she could do it, but I want her to be comfortable with any gun she has in her house.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Glock is the answer. Honestly pulling the slide and popping the barrel out is all the further I take my Glocks down. Clean out the inside of the slide, brush the bore, wipe the barrel down, reassemble with a tiny bit of lube on the slide rails. That's it. Pulling the FCG is easy enough but unnecessary unless you have put 5,000 rounds of cast bullet grease lubed handloads down the after market pipe. As you should know, cast bullets in a Glock stock barrel is supposed to be a bad thing.

OOPs, sorry for the thread high-jack Richard!

She has helped me clean my G19 before. She is getting more comfortable, but not enough for it to be her gun at home. Though if I could find her a CZ 83 she would like that. Loves my CZ 82, it is not hard to strip, and the ammo is a lot easier to get for the 83.

I love Smith & Wesson revolvers. There are at least a dozen more I would like to have. But until they find a way to control manufacturing costs, they're priced out of the market foir most folks.

They need to automate with some CNC machinery, and move to a non-union state.
