I can envision regional conflicts breaking out in 5-6 places all around the same time, and then being blown into a major war.

There will be wars, and rumors of wars...and then the first seal was broken.

I really think the world is way too interconnected anymore with the global economy and everything to allow for any large-scale conflict between super-powers. Economies are just too dependent on each other any more, when one falters so eventually do the rest.

I really wouldn't be surprised if the Russian troops pulled out of Crimea within a couple weeks and Ukranian reunification talks were back on the table. Not because of any change-of-heart on Putin's part, but simply because the Russian economy can't take much more damage before the average Russian people really start feeling the squeeze.

"That tyranny has all the vices both of democracy and oligarchy is evident. As of oligarchy so of tyranny, the end is wealth; (for by wealth only can the tyrant maintain either his guard or his luxury). Both mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms." -- Aristotle, Book V, 350 B.C.E

That's a nice thought but the jews want a temple, muslims want to force everyone on earth to worhsip allah their particular way, satanists want to impose the antimessiah on the world, and rich people/politicians around the world are fighting each other over who gets to exploit poor people the most. These people have nuclear weapons, bios, chems, every inconceivable evil thing and they are willing to use them.

You are assuming Putin is a "rational" actor. I think he's nuckin futz and believes he can weather any short-term sanction storm.

Let's see. In one post you fear and insult successful people, Jews, Muslims, and tremble with fear of satanists. (BTW, I've never met a satanist)

I'm sure glad I don't live in your world.

Things are pretty good in God's world!

Damn near any world would be better than the paranoid, delusional world you live in.
