    Netting On Kevlar Helmet?

Something different. So is this just a odd use here? Kind of like it.

Some countries still do it. In some US Army light infantry units in the 90s, it was still SOP to wear a "rag top" in the field. You either made it yourself out of BDU scraps or burlap strips using scraps of camo net or had someone off post sew the strips on the fabric cover. Just did a class last weekend with Recruits on "Camouflage Yourself and Your Individual Equipment".

I gave them some camo paint compacts/sticks, burlap sandbags, burlap strips from "natural" burlap purchased by the yard at Wally World, A three piece ghillie suit, a sniper cape (ghillie "Sniper Tog"), a piece of hammock netting, a foxhole net, a roll of 100MPH tape and a Roll of 550 cord. The kids had old-school Kevlar helmets minus the camo cover.

One kid actually made a net out of 550 cord and tied burlap strips to it. I was humbled and impressed.
