What Calibers Do You Have? Which Calibers Do You Stockpile?

I sold everything but 4 calibers/gauges after Obummer was elected. I figured it would be best to concentrate on common and affordable ammo. Now I'm down to .22lr, 9mm, 12ga, and 5.56.

    How about you?

    I have:

    .22 LR
    9mm
    .25-.284 Win.
    .300 Win. Mag.
    12 gauge

This is for ammunition that matches the firearms I own.

Actually looking at (2) more in the near future.
    38spl/357mag
    12ga

I'm really torn between the 12ga and a cool lil .22lr for SHTF small game hunting.

I scoped a Savage .22 bolt gun. Didn't cost much and I've been able to hit out to 200yds with it. Let's me practice all day without worrying about ammo cost.

I've got a shit ton of calibers, but only seriously stock a few. Those are .22, 5.45x39, 5.56x45, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 9mm, and .45 ACP. Everything else is either for personal range pleasure (.30 carbine) and/or trading stock (9x18). I'd never use 9x18 in a gunfight by choice, but what about my neighbor whose wife won't let him own guns right now? If TSHTF, what do you think he'd be willing to trade for a Marlin .30-30 with 300 rounds and a CZ-82 with another 500 rounds. He'd probably give me his wife for them.

Swampy, I bought a 10/22 a few months ago and I am addicted to it. I can blast off my back porch all day for $20 bucks. My kids and I stick poker chips in slotted 2x4's and play games..Great fun and it's excellent skill building to boot..

    For people; .308 (M118LR equiv.), .223 (SS109 equiv.), .45acp, 12ga. Stockpiled.

    For critters; .300WSM, .270, .243, .45-70, .22LR, 45LC, .357, 12 & 20ga. Handy but not stockpiled.

Because there's so much of it around, I should get some 7.62x39 for people & 44mag for critters.

And I've been thinkin' about .50 Alaskan in a lever gun & .475 Linebaugh in a Ruger Bisley for Brownies in Alaska. I used to live in the interior and go back from time to time...

    10/22's are great lil rifles.
My best friend when I was a kid had one.
We went shooting all the time and he let me shoot his quite a bit in exchange for shooting my pistols.

Years back Ruger marketed an "International" version of the 10/22 through WalMart. Stainless with a full length stock. Wish I still had it.

I just wish they'd use better receivers. It's so easy to strip the threads with that soft ass aluminum.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson
