We Were Soldiers with Sgt. Maj. Basil Plumley and his 1911.

Here's a nice list of movies with the 1911... http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/1911

So many choices. I would have to go with The Hunt For Red October.

Since my choices are taken, I'll add The Untouchables...

Red Heat. There are several members of a black gang all armed with identical 1911A1s.

Besides the obvious war movies like We Were Soldiers and Saving Private Ryan, I would like to add Ronin. Can't remember exactly if it's seen in the movie, but DeNiro has best line about it near the beginning...I'll try to find and post.
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson
