My wife just inherited a set of occupation china from her aunt who was stationed in Japan as a nurse after the war ended. Not worth a lot ( 300-400 bucks maybe), but really nicely decorated fine china 32 piece tea set.
The U.S. did a lot to help the Japanese people get back on their feet after the war by rebuilding their manufacturing infrastructure and providing a market for their goods....remember when "made in Japan" was a slur
