    Help please new AK-47 Serbia

I bought this from a guy that needed money. $240.00 with 300 rounds of ammo. Is this a good deal? I know nothing about AK-47s at all. The rifle is new never fired. It still have the factory packing cosmoline in it.
I have found out that the Yugo and the Serbian are the same.

Here is the info on the tag that came with it.

    PAP Semi Auto

    Model: M-70 B1 SA

    2009/05/08....I get this part.

    Made in Serbia.

Came with a 10 round magazine.

    Couple quick pics.

Nice rifle, for sure a good deal at $240 without the ammo. Enjoy it.

I have read a little about what a good shooter they are but you can only get specific to this rifle magazines and only 10 rounds.

You did great on that one, worth much more than you paid. The M-70 were built like tanks! To be honest I have never seen one with that style Bush-hole stock, but it looks really nice.

Is that a single stack mag? If so it shouldn't be too hard to open the mag well to accept standard AK mags.

By the way, it is more of an "AKM" then it is the news media name of "AK-47". People hate me when I say this, but the "AK-47" was more a news media/NATO designation. The Soviets called the original milled rifle (translated) an "Automatic Kalashnikov". The AK was never officially called an AK-47, although in his later years even Mr. K. has been quoted using the term.

    Regardless, great purchase, enjoy!!!!

IMHO. I'd keep the butthole stock and open it up for hi-caps.

I like the stock a lot.
Any sites to show me how to open it up? I know it feeds fine now
and would hate to change that.
I put 15 rounds through it Friday out on a dirt road (gotta love AZ)
    down into a wash.

    Thumbs up

Your Zastava is a great score @ 240 bucks. I'm not partial to the thumbhole-style stocks but it still looks like a keeper.

    Nice photos, too.

Like your avatar as well. That Glen Campbell DUI mugshot is classic, lol.

Really nice find. I'll give you $275 for it...

I'd value it at double plus what you paid. The Zavastas are one of the best quality AK/AKMs ever made. I would open the mag well up for standard mags and get some Yugo bolt hold open mags for it.

That is sharp at first I didn't recall those but after the pics I remember when they came out.
    Here's a little more I found
    http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=120162

I found that while looking for this about single to double stack conversion not a whole lot but a little info.

Look that over good before starting in cutting that magwell.
I've brought this up before and it seems like I'm the only one that encountered the narrow bolt Romainians but I know it was a little more involved than the WASR's.
Can be done but make sure you want to do it before starting that's a nice rifle.
Slant cut receiver to if your thinking of switching stocks
