So I was looking up a way to De-link ammo that was easy and fast.....Well all I did was waste my time I tried a few different methods till I figured this out so just thought I might save someone else some time .....

1. Find the male side of the link

2. Place the empty male link in the vice and tighten till you see it flex a little and rotate the belt till the most brass is showing.

3. Pull the round from the top towards you with a little twist and it should come right out....

Two blocks of wood goes faster, but still saves your fingers.

Use one piece of wood to rest the bullet nose, and another to push down on the male side of the link. After just a very little practice you can get a rhythm going and knock out entire belts in less than five minutes. When it's four at a time, from delinking tracer-removed belt remnants as you appear to be doing, it's not quite as efficient, but still very fast.

This method also works with whole-round links like those used for the 1919, where the link loop is closed and the round cannot be stripped out sideways like on the newer style.

I push the nose of the bullet on the corner of an ammo can until it delinks a little and then grab the rear of the shell and pull it the rest of the way out, and repeat.
No tools needed.

I have literally push delinked over 10,000 rounds of .30-06 and 7.62 NATO. I can not recall any bullets getting pushed back into a case. If they had I would of been able to see the effect given the neck realitve to the Cannelure ring.
