I just received my Norinco BWK-92 Sporter imported by B-west. No bayo lug or threaded barrel. Manual is for 223 Remington with no mention of 5.56.
Receiver has what looks like overstamp "5.56x45".
Anyway, is it chambered for 5.56 Nato rounds (ie: Federal, Radway, etc..) or can only chamber 223 Remington?

TIA

The BWK-92s were all made in China and just restamped by B-West (i.e. the BWK-92 means B- West AK model 1992. Remember that FUCKER BILL CLINTON blocked all Rifle imports from China in 1994. The Norinco Aks can all fire 5.56 NATO. Full auto versions of their 5.56mm AKs have been sent to many regions of the world and used by a few minor military powers.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

Yes, the BWK-92, along with it's brothers the NHM90, MAK-90 and it's pre-ban father the 84S can use 5.56x45. The AK barrel and mounting system are designed to take higher pressures due to operating conditions, and 5.56x45 are not a problem.

My personal feeling is that when the Chinese first started on the 5.56x45/ .223 they weren't aware of the difference between the NATO round and civilian round. Lucky they were built to the standards for a higher pressure load.

Mine eats m855 perfectly. It's made for the nato rounds.

Thanks to all for the responses. I used to have an 84s (kind of like I getting rid of my first car.....mistake). Especially because I had a handful of 30 round mags that sold, too. Could use them now, instead of trying to hunt some more up for at reasonable price.

And I remember the impeached Bill Clinton for many things.(momma got a blue dress)
