I take it "The Watchers" is not an english language site?!?!?

As for cracks in the earth, I noticed a similar thing here in Indiana last year after a really bad drought. Lots of cracks everywhere, and downtown Indy there was a lot of Crack going around helping people cope with the reality of reality. :dizzy:

I'm more worried about 2013. That's when the next window for serious solar activity, e.g. CME (coronal mass ejection -- gigantic solar flares) is supposed to occur. We've seen what these once-in-100-year-events have done to the electricity grid in the past... shocked telegraph operators 150 years ago, caused a major black-out in Canada just recently. Some have warned that a particular large one could fry many transformers, which take over 2 years to manufacture anew. Imagine huge swaths of the U.S. being without electricity for years... most gas pumps are powered by electricity. Millions would die as grocery stores go without being restocked, nuclear plants would enter crisis as backup generators run dry and fresh water could no longer be pumped.

In short, it would be a massive cluster-fuck.

with the way folks here keep predicting doom and gloom you think they would DO something about the impending catastrophes..instead of rumor mongering.but that's just me. Maybe assemble a 3 day or a 7 day bug out bag or something like that and store it for later but that would be asking folks to actually think instead of scare themselves.

Actually with 2013 being possibly the first year of obama-messiah's second reign of terror, and being a lame duck, he can plunder this country until there is nothing left, which could be why December 2012 is not a bad idea.....

I heard something about the sun "hibernating" for awhile actually but I am not a astronomer..

From what I understand, the plan is when a large CME is detected, the grid will be shut down, saving all equipment from getting fried.

I don't know but I thought with EMP it doesn't matter if it has juice running through it at the time. Or would a CME have a different effect than a EMP blast?

I'm more worried about 2013. That's when the next window for serious solar activity, e.g. CME

The sun is constantly tossing CME's out into space. The only question is when one will be tossed our way. It's completely random.

What worries ME more is the talk of our magnetic field changing polarity. Our magnetic field is all that protects us from lethal solar radiation and all that keeps the solar wind from sweeping away our atmosphere.

Without the magnetic field, we would be like Mars... virtually no atmosphere, dry and dead.
