I will never forget the day my brother called me at work to say my father had just died. He was 91 and had suffered from Alzheimers for a few years. I didn't know what to do so I stayed at work for about an hour before it became clear I had to go home.

I'm sorry you lost your dad we all will have to face this fact one day we all have the fears in the back of our minds... At the moment of death all we can do is think of the best times we spend with our loved ones the smiles the laugh's the story's they would tell us... The hugs the joys the hand shakes an the love... Our family viewed my fathers for the last time today. He looked very peaceful and because they did not embalm him he was the same shape as I saw him 3 days before at my home eating shish-ka-bobs.

Family is in good spirits and my mother is doing quite well. Also my mother decided to keep all 100% of my dads ashes in the box to be buried at Fort Sam Houston on Friday afternoon. There was going to be a partial burial but mom changed her mind for the good.

The USMC will be there, with some being flown in due to him being a WWII vet and the special unit he was in. He will be buried with full military honors.

I am proud to say the family is doing well at this point.
