"Stole" a nice Surefire weaponlight

Finished my AR today.... picked up a Surefire M951 Millennium with a IR filter for $100 at a not so often visited shop.

Honestly I dont need the filter, I might put it on the for sale forum. The things in like new condition too :)

You certainly stole that! First thing I'd do is swap out the bulb for a high output LED emmitter. Malkoff Devices or the like.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will look them up. I am debating on keeping the filter, I have always wanted to try NVG and this gives me an excuse

Looks like that torch still takes the M60/M61 bulbs, so you could go with something like this:

That way you get 260 lumins for 2 hours, plus some more light as the batterys dwindle outside of regulation, as opposed to 65 lumins for 120 min, or 120 lumins for 20 min. (Surefires specs for the incan bulb.) The one drawback is I doubt the LED would work with the infra red filter, though it might be possible to get an infra red LED.
