Two damn fine men that helped make my accumulation into what it is today for better or worse.

Always willing to answer and educate, I strive to emulate them as as Mod. As I understand it Rich was the one who put my name in to head up the old Rimfire World forum and he had to talk me into taking it. I saw how much blood, sweat and tears he and Rick put into the C&R Forums and I wasn't sure I was up to the task. I often think of them both as I cruise gunsnet...

Rick was one of the reasons I became a member, I didn't know until later he had already passed away two years prior. That's how good his posts were.

It's funny how you can grow so close to someone you've never met. They were both great guys and I find myself thinking about them more than I would have expected. They died much too soon.

I remember when I first found the C&R forums. Redstar & Zouave were always helpful. If some member's question wasn't answered right away, Rick always took the time to try to say something. He didn't like to see a post with 'zero' replies.
And I'm sure I'm not the only one that got a lot of ecouragment & "hand-holding" when applying for our C&R license.

i never "met" REDSTAR but i believe Zouave was still around when i signed on to GN. both of them were a wealth of knowledge and a great asset to the board even after they signed off.

it is solely because of those two men that i long for the day that GNS gets the old database back. their wisdom is timeless and should not be lost.

I remember when I first :nutkick: Zouave back in 06'
I miss talking to him.

C4550 was funny at times with his rants. We lost him just as fast.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rich (Zouave) at the last WV shoot. That is something I'll never forget.

I especially miss my friend Rich. Think about him almost every day.

Yes, I remember them of course. Redstar is the guy that invited me to Ak-47forums when I hung at AK-47.net. After the blending of the two forums I met Rich aka Zouave. I miss them both but in particular I miss Rich. He was definitely a kindred spirit; we had many things in common from politics to weapons. Believe it or not he called me on the day he got out of Intensive Care. He sounded really up beat and chipper. Unfortunately I had to cut the conversation short as I need to get out of my vehicle and go in to work at my former employers. I figured I would talk to him again as he sounded good. 2 days later bsllvn emailed me that he'd passed. I really miss Rich.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Rich once at a bar where he got me lei'd.

Rick and I have exchanged many phone calls, but we never got around to meeting always thinking another day.

Both guys were true Gentleman and always willing to help in whatever manner they can.

They will always be remembered.

Rick was a treasure trove of information. Back in 2003 on, he helped me when I had questions about C&R.
The thing I remember most was his collection of SKSs. Boy, did he had them.
I never conversed much with Zouave, just read a lot of his posts.

Both were well respected here then and today. I do miss them posting.

RIP

I miss 'em both. They helped me with a lot of questions and many PM's. At the time I was just a punk kid (early 20's) trying to obtain my C&R license...

Yes - They provided the "Synergy" that made the board successful!

I still come here, but it's never been as active without them here to keep everyone interested.

Rick-RedStar was a great source of infomation. When I first signed on w/questions about SKS's and C+R weapons, he was the first with answers. He was a great source of information, hopefully his old posts came be brought back to life as information for those to come.

I never met either one of these guys in person, but through their posts I felt like I knew them very well. Rick was instrumental in me getting my C & R to begin with. Rich was a great help with whatever stupid question I had. I still miss them both. RIP, my friends.

Don't know why but was thinking about Rich and Rick this morning. We all had a lot of fun over here and I have to admit that after we lost them both I kind of lost my passion for C&R. Sure back in the day they were more plentiful, variety was high and prices low but there was just something about our board along with Rich and Rick that made it a better experience.

I've not been here much and I apologize for that.

All three were great guys. Redstar is the reason I have my C&R and why I chose to spend free time lurking in the forums.

While gunsnet tore itself apart we were in our own little world where everybody got along and helped each other willingly...even lurkers : )

I remember them well. I did probaby 10 C&R trades with Redstar and even more with Zouave. Zouave was a real world friend of mine, we went to gunshows, hung out, plinked and generally raised hell. I miss them both.
