Going to be teaching freshmen world history, if I am correct. The schools standards require teaching Marx and Capitalism, which I as a conservative will mightily enjoy. But if you'll excuse me, HOLY SHIT I was not expecting this today.......came home from running a few errands, got the message, returned it......voiced a little shaky. Waiting while they mail me two contracts to sign, then I have a half day of orientation, then a doctors physical, then report on August 9th.

I had three interviews, two in this district. This one was the one I felt went THE WORST, which surprises me even more. But regardless of everything, its a job and a chance to prove myself as a teacher. I am PUMPED.

Ha, the wife is gonna let me get a new toy. What do you think? M91/30 PU repro, mossberg 590, another bulgarian makarov?

Edited to add, i am leaning towards the m91/30 PU, because its the most historically relevent......

sorry, sorry, I did know that, I was just on the phone with someone while I was typing that out, not fully engaged. Think the wife and I are going to go to colorado late this month for 5 or 6 days to celebrate. Wanted to go to yellowstone, but thats a bit more expensive......

Congrats but I guess while others are pointing things out I can see why you're not a economics teacher either :)

Ok, I admit I suck at spelling, I caught that, but the economics? Actually, I took several classes in college on that, have a ton of lessons, experience teaching it to peers in college. These classes were ones where I had to put together a lesson on economics and rpesent it to a college class. Over and over. Fun, but dull at times.

Good for you! Remember, you will influence the younge ones. I can still quote a history teacher that I had in High School. Mr. Remes taught me well. Made me memorize the preamble to the Constitution. Can still recite it today.

That's history the way it happened and not the way it has been rewritten right?:bigsmilebounce:I'm all happy for you.

whatever differences of opinion we all share here, I can guarantee you that if you had your choice between the average liberal high school history teacher and me, you'd rather your kid be in MY room. I won't teach them the liberal/ socialist re-written history crap thats so common. I'll teach marx for what he was, not for what the libtards WANT him to be. But I'll also be careful, not to go to far so I do not lose my job.

Congradulations. I would go with the PU sniper replica. I like my old PU not a replica. I do like the 590 though too, I need to get one some day. I would pass on the makarov. I have one and honestly don't like it much.

I love the makarov, want a 3rd bulgarian. One is in my wifes nightstand, and I carry the other. I'd like a spare bulgarian. But, I want the 590 to birdhunt with this fall, I might wait until september to get the PU as I am already well set up for deer hunting, which is what I'd use it for. It'l likely be the 590......

Congratulations. Which district did you end up in? Wichita, or one of the surrounding ones?

In the "not go too far so as not to lose one's job" department, I'd recommend a very balanced approach to both Marxism and Capitalism; but for Marxism I'd heavily stress the societal destruction engendered by the philosophy, as opposed to greed, avarice, and power seeking infecting capitalism in such a way as to cause some bad, vs the overall good of capitalism as engendered by honest businessmen. I'd then correlate the two as a function of greed, avarice and power seeking having limitations in capitalism, based on the concept of the good driving out the bad, out competing them both in terms of retaining employees and producing a better product, vs Marxism's lack of any similar internal or external control to greed, avarice and power seeking, Final emphasis would be on the fact that people can be greedy, they can desire wealth and power above all other things, but within capitalism there are some safeguards within the marketplace to limit those, basically human failings. Within Marxism there are none, given total state control...if the state is corrupt, there are no safeguards.

Congrats on the job, it gives me hope for this country knowing that you'll be teaching the next generation. Will you be covering the American revolution in your teachings?

I don't want to come out and say the district or school....just to protect myself. But regardless, I am happy.

That's good. In our state the county school boards have people on the payroll to search out employee's of any school district in the county and they try and see what they are saying on FB or MySpace or Twitter...well you get the idea.

Sorry I am late to the party. I saw when this was originally posted but was unable at the time to reply, but I did want to congratulate you on a successful job search. I hope you enjoy it. You will be a large part of these young peoples lives. It sucks though, that you have to worry about "spies" trying to dig up dirt on you for being conservative.

well, not going to worry about it. Really, no one can figure out what school or district, and I have said no names or anything. Always got to cover yourself...
