Has anyone here owned a Rossi model 92 lever action?

I've been thinking about getting a 20" carbine in .357mag to cure my cowboy itch.

I like the idea of the .44mag version, but I don't think its worth the extra ammo cost just for dicking around at the range, since I don't plan on using it for hunting.

Bud's has a good deal on these, but you have to look under Rossi shotguns for some reason.

I've owned 2, both were the 357 version. One of mine was the 16 inch barrel and I miss it :) When I bought mine the wood they put on them was pretty crappy, now they use a much better grade of wood and look much nicer.

We have two in our collections.

20" Octagon barrel Stainless 44/40
16" Round barrel Stainless .38/.357

These have functioned better than the Marlin lever guns.

I was expecting a bunch of Rossi bashing, I'm glad to hear both of you like yours.

I'm really leaning towards getting one.

I have a EMF model 1892 saddle ring carbine with 20 inch barrel and color case hardened finish in .357 magnum. Rossi makes the EMF '92's. I very much like mine, the fit and finish is very good and the action is smooth as silk. Plenty accurate, I've taken a couple of whitetail deer with mine.

I'd like that model in .45 colt to go with my Beretta Marshal.

I bought the 20" octogon bbl in 44 mag and I love it! I handload and cast bullets for it ( this helps keep the cost way low) and it is a blast to shoot.
