I leave it closed on my 1956 made Type-53. It did not really make a differance, I never really saw where it made the Carbine go to the Right, or Left. however I am Left Handed as well. What does your Do?

Out, it makes it easier to stick in the ground beside me when I'm shooting.

Yes when I owned M44 Mosin's I did find a shift of impact point that differed from bayonet out or bayonet in. Group size wouldn't change but Point of impact sure did. If your rifle does not shift I would consider you lucky. It is easier to clean the rifle up if the bayo is not deployed, it is steel and it can rust if it gets fowling on it.

Humm! I will try with the Bayonet out more next time. I thought you only would have a problem with Rust on the Bayonet, if you were Shooting Corrosive Ammo?

That is correct, rust if using corrosive ammo.

Schuetz- Did you ever find any change in accuracy when one completely removes the bayo altogether ?
