I think it might be time for me to pick up a Tomahawk...

The two I'm thinking of are both by cold steel...

I know they aren't the best, but they aught to be functional, and as long as you don't buy em from cold steel, the price is pretty good. I've heard some complaints about the spike hawk having a poorly fitting handle, but I could always turn a new one. Regardless, these are the two I've found that have an 'acceptable' profile and at least functional steel.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or other recomendations?

I have the United Cutlery M48 Hawk and have made a bunch of bows with it, thrown it all over the place, and just litterally beat the shit out of it. It keeps performing for me, its a little smaller than Cold Steel's varient, but handles well. Maybe take a look at it.

Just holding it in my grubby little fist it sure beats the others I have.

I'm not a fan of 'stainless steel' blades, especially in an impact type environment. Thats why I'm not looking at the SOG hawks, or the M48.

When I can Im definatly getting 2 more of the M48 hawks, then I'll probably pick up 1 of the Cold Steel trench hawks.
