Both shows are fantastic ! Hardcore shows the animalistic behavior of crude Detroit and her inhabitants , the attitude is incredible !

Pawn Stars has a more interesting merchandise incoming and the "experts" tell it like it is ....

Damn Detroit sucks balls, that being said Pawn Stars. The guys on that show seem more in the know. But I really dont watch history channel much, unless its top shot, or military based shows. I really do like the Discovery channel, they have everything so far. Surviving the Cut, Sons of Guns, Man vs Wild, Dual Survival, One Man Army, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, and sometimes American Chopper. Discovery I think is where its at right now.

Pawn Stars is the only one shown here in Singapore. I'm not much into TV, but everyone likes to buy low and sell high, right? So, I enjoy this show. Plus learning a bit about obscure stuff (gliders, pinball machines, etc) on the way. I like guessing what the customer's asking price will be, what the store will offer (or even if they will make an offer), what repairs will cost, what they can sell it for, etc. And, realistically, sometimes the store takes a risk and loses money (like when repair / refurbishment costs are a lot higher than they thought).

The thing that amazes me is, some guy will bring in a 19th century Austrian soda fountain (or something similarly obscure) and they'll say "I don't know much about these, but I'm going to call my buddy Frank who is an expert in Central European drink dispensers from the 1800's"!

.....of course there are many good people who have not succumbed to this lower level of human ignorance but the ratio is amazing !!!
