That is sad. Obviously a good guy. But that didn't change the fact that he's dealing with animals in his job - the kind that will kill with no hesitation and most probably no remorse.

I was going to take a jab at the media and write a smart ass op-ed centering around the officer indoctrinating the kid with cookies and the heroic actions of the local hero that put a stop to it thanks to the inspiring guidance provided by Michelle Obama but i think i'll just skip it.

God speed brother. If we're lucky we'll all have the last thing we do be remembered so favorably.

Suicide by cop. It's not an uncommon phenominon but in most cases the person just forces the cop into a position of having to shoot instead of actually killing a cop first. The suicide note he left says it all. After you've killed a cop you know his buddies are going to stop at nothing to get you and they will kill you without any regrets if you threaten them again.
