Hi All,
I have a SAR-3 (.223) and I want to put a night vision weapon system on it, they're pretty heavy, the night vision scope Im looking at is the ATN MK 350, it weighs 2.8lbs so can anyone recommend a good scope mount for this application? Also I've been told that the mount will fit on the left side of the reciever, but how exactally do those mounts fit -up on the reciever?
Thanks,
Paul

There should be a bracket that the scope base slides on to and locks down shown in these pics. If you don't have that on it you have other options though.

Alternatives. You could get a TWS rail. I have one of these on a Norinco.
Dog Leg Scope Rail / Gen-2 (http://www.texasweaponsystems.com/index.html)

Or if the rifle has it's rear tang you could get a Krebs rail
Krebs Custom Kalashnikov Rear Sight Rail (http://www.krebscustom.com/ProductLine/Rail_System-AssembledLocked.shtml)

Either is worth every penny.
