Here is a picture of the rifle I am working on.

After sitting at my mother-in-law's house for 20 years or so, my brother-in-law gave me this rifle. It was a little sticky and the action would not cycle fully. I took it apart and cleaned it for about an hour. It was less sticky, but still seemed to catch about mid-return stroke. I took it to the range and tried it out, but it would not cycle correctly. A man there looked at it and showed me a couple of places where there was still a build up of burned gunpowder residue. I spent another hour, a generous amount of Hoppes #9, and a brass, wire brush and got rid of those stubborn areas. Now the slide cycles with no stickiness. I hope to take the rifle to the range in the next couple of weeks to try it out.

Don't see many of those old 60s with an original scope! You also don't hear about one that doesn't cycle properly unless it has never been cleaned and sat in a closet for 20 years or so!

I have an old one too, and the manual that is with it says that it never needs cleaning unless it stops firing properly. I have never been able to let it go to find out, but they are great rifles!!!

Having a family heritage also adds to yours being special. ENJOY!!!

I had a Marlin 60, first gun I ever bought when I turned 18. I loved it, but in a short moment of delirium... I sold it and I still hate myself for doing so. I have another, SS version that feeds a clip but those old ones hold 19 rounds of long rifle. Marlin cut that capacity to 15 after a knucklehead shot up a mall sometime ago.
I do remember the bolt kind of dragging on mine before going into battery if your held the charging handle and didn't just let go of it, but mine didn't jam... ever.

nice I passed one up last week.

My Stevens 84c I picked up for $60 still has the matching Weaver V22 scope ,rings and mount.

I gotta take the barrel off cause it needs an improved feed ramp.

I thought the reduced capacity had something to do with New Jersey law. I have an old one, pretty sweet little blaster.

my md 60 added a weaver rail, m4 mount see through, laseraim illusion red dot, colt bi-pod. Shoots ok, but not as well as I remember from my childhood
