Hello, all. The next project I was interested in with my conversion was to cut the barrel shroud and thread the barrel. The front sight block, though, is off by a couple of degrees, so I was thinking about just taking off the whole thing and putting on a new one.
I know I can put in a AK-74 shroud with a 24x1.5mm thread. However, I would prefer not to do that, just out of personal preference and I would like to try my hand and barrel threading.
Oddly, it seems that FSBs that fit a Saiga 7.62 seem hard to come by. Mississippi Auto, Dinzag, and Carolina Shooters Supply all seem to have the AK-74 FSB in stock, but nothing that's simply a non-threaded replacement for the stock 7.62 FSB.
I did find the AK-333 from K-Var. Does this one work? Does anyone have any experience on how difficult it is to install? If not, where can I get a simple stock FSB replacement?
Thanks for any advice!
