What material is the receivers made of?

Aluminum receiver, plastic lower. It comes with a 10rd mag but the 25rd (22rd?) mags for the GSG5 rifle work in it as well.

This is the nod to the Slamfire design, check out tha sawnoff G grip making that cool finger retainer! And the front GB/sight combo.
Lost everything in this photo, it was never finished so I dont really count it as my first. Never even got to test fire it =(.

Welcome to Gunsnet.

I don't keep up with vendors that sell the Draco. I've seen them go for 375ish lately.
You might click on some our advertisers here first and see if they carry the Draco.

I agree. The AMD short brake increases felt and heard muzzle blast. Muzzle blast is brutal if you are standing to the side.

I started out with no tools, and built several AKs.
I finally bought a 12 ton press which made the whole operation easier.

Skill is achieved by reading and asking questions. That's how I learned. Ask 1 Patroit of many about that. LOL

What's the holdup on finishing it?

Before it was the action was too rough, but after a bit of polishing, that looks to be fixed.

The rear rail I have is too high and adds extra weight.
I'm looking at those saiga rails now.

After it's all said and done, I might add a ecotech clone to increase sight in speed.

What is the overall length on the Draco?

From the rear sling adapter to the end of the flash hider is 22".

From the rear of the receiver to the end of the flash hider is 21 3/8".

From the rear of the receiver to the end of the bare muzzle is 20 1/4". This is the length of a factory Draco with muzzle nut attached.

Out of curiosity, I measured my shorty.
Barrel length is 5.5"
Overall length without brake is 14"
15-1/4" with shorty AMD brake.

I used a Romy buttstock swivel on the rear, and another attached to the HG since there is no place to attach anyplace up front on metal.

I bought one of these (http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/vm-1-draco-ak-pistol-sling-plates-820.html) doohickies. The sling they advertise for it sucks though. The $20 with free shipping one from AIM is nicer.

I drilled and tapped the hole in the pistol trunnion.
Wood screws on the HG.

I like it!

I think that would look good on my Draco with a wide green Romanian sling, since it already has the standard clip on the lower HG retainer.

Although I have been satisfied with my current setup and olive drab single point sling.
