Junk has no place in my AK contrary to all your beliefs ! Ain't got no CAA , TDI , Leapers , Intra-Fuse , Mako , or K-Var plastic ! However I do have a dreaded Tapco product "my SAW 249 style hand grip " , oh the shame !

Could have chose this ugly plastic mess , but didn't ....

http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp241/printerman-photo/AK-47Triple-set-TAN.jpg

http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp241/printerman-photo/images10.jpg

....even this is seen on AK's ! Wouldn't last a week ...

http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp241/printerman-photo/images4.jpg

....all kinds of stuff out there ! If your looking to upgrade , buy quality !

Avoid $50 lasers , cheap plastic furniture , lights that can't handle recoil , ring mounts that are designed to work in pairs , of course the dreaded "Famous Maker" scopes !!

For you purists , more power to you ! But AK style rifles have come a long way , get used to it ....

p.s. my rifle is about having fun shooting and if I have to use it for defense then so be it .... Seems like some of you scurvy can't wait for war to break-out so you can kill someone !!!

So at least gunsnet hasnt changed to much, we still have to see a post a day of your tacticool AK.

So what do you figure is the distance from the bore to the center of the glass?
9 inch?

The height of the scope and size of the big ass flashlight seem ridiculous.

How fast does that stuff come off? It looks like it would be a good setup for shooting coyotes, alone at night, but I'd want to be able to quickly take all that stuff off.

When I want to feel tactical, I use my Kobra sight. Also I got a clip on belt flashlight holder I could use in a pinch.

Why didn't you just get an AR?

To be honest, the only add-on a AK needs is an CQB optic, something like an eotech.
Lasers, lights and similar stuff gives away your location.
The forward grip is ok, but only if you bump alot or have the FA stamp.

I don't know how far it is, but it looks like his eyeball would need a stepladder to get to the scope!:yeah:

Printerman, what possible scenario would you face in life where your wacky one man swat team fatasies would not only come true, but even necesitate the four pounds of lights and bateries hanging off the front of that poor abused AKM.

Haven't really noticed height issue , compared with other optics and for an AKM style it seems ok to me . Besides it's fun and accurate as hell .....

Oh I get it, the rail and accesories weigh the front of your rifle down, dropping the optics to a level where a human would be able to use them.

Yea I hear ya. But while SHOOTING the rifle ( as in firing the weapon, not pointing a camera at it ) and you might notice.

I have a midwest industries handguard set on one of my AK's and it's nice and smooth...

Here is what I'm shooting for on my draco. I lifted the pics off of arfcom.... I'm not a big fan of AR stocks on AK's but this here is classy.

Nah.
I'm liking the SBR version best.

I'm a firm believer that if you have a full-length barrel, then you need to use a full-length rail too....like the one from UltiMak.
A short rail on a long gun just looks funky.
But a longer rail looks better, and also gives you more surface area to work with.

Who make the butt-stock in the pic?
And will it work on milled receivers?
And can it still work with without a folding mechanism?
I'm not sure a folder would work with my side rail...and definitely not work with the scope mount installed.
I've never seen that pistol grip before either....

Nothing bad about it but it does add quick, before you know it you are building a special hidden room that is reinforced with rebar and bolting down 2-4 heavy safes and naming this room the VAULT.

I think you guys have things confused...
This fine example of a rifle does not belong to me (although I am assembling her twin)
See, I bought a draco a few months ago and it never grew on me and I was on the verge of selling it until I came across those pics...

I typed that I "lifted" the pics from arfcom...
Lifted AKA boosted AKA stolen. :lool:
The only reason I put the pics up in the first place was to show printerman how an AK was supposed to look when done.

Here is the thread I lifted the pics from.

No need for a bunch of crap on there. Broke that habit years ago.

Simple but very practical and functional:
-Ultimak rail
-Aimpoint Micro
-Offset Light/mount
-Good sling

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/DavePAL84/projects/ak-setup.jpg

A straight-forward fighting gun.

I am not usally a fan of highly costomized tacticool AK's. I like them more or less stock. However the pictures of the one chiak47 impress me. That is the first tacticool AK I have seen that I actually like. That one looks practical as opposed to an atempt to turn the AK into something it isn't an, AR.

If you want an AR get an AR that is my theory.

Although they are uncoordinated as hell lol they are at the bayonet course.

One of the "moves" is called a vertical butt stroke where the full power of your strong side arm drives the butt up and into your adversary's chin. In the film there are a couple of other "moves" which will drive the butt plate into your adversary's skull or body.

If your stock would fail being treated in this fashion; its not very tactical. ;)

This is where an M1A shines.. lol
