Greeting all!
I am trying to find good, yet affordable, scope for my AK-47 (Century Arms, GP1975 Sporter).

The catch is that it needs to be/have: 2-6 zoom, extended eye relief and have an illuminated reticle.

I have been looking for a little while and have come up with nothing.

Why would you want a magnified scope on a GP75?

What's your budget? I'd look at something like the Vortex Sparc as about the cheapest option.

I have a scope on it now and I enjoy using it as the gun is very accurate. However the scope that is on it has everything I am looking for with the exception of extended eye relief. I fail to see a reason not to have a magnified scope on it.
(I am trying to say this in a way that does not make me look like an ass)

In regards to the Vortex Sparc, I do not like red dot sights; also, I have a green laser mounted on the gun.

Do you have the side rail mount on the receiver?

Try www.kalinkaoptics.com

They always have some interesting toy accessories there.

I was thinking one of these:

Any thoughts on these?

I was looking into the first one you posted a few days ago, but there is no way I could pay that much for a scope right now. I know I am going to get the classic saying, "you get what you pay for" But I really wanted to stay at or below the $100.00 mark. That is why I was intrested in the two I posted. :/ I know I seem like a pain...

Yes, I have the UTG 5th Gen Quick Detachable Double Rail AK Side Mount.

Ahhhh ! UTG , "Airsoft" grade equipment is frowned upon when using metal , wood and explosives ......

Better overall quality, battle tested and proven, and products that have been used across the board so the few issues out there are known.

Why is UTG so bad? (I guess it could be said I do not know squat due to the amount of "why" questions)

Fox,

I, too, have just mounted a UTG 5th Gen Scope on my AK. Could I ask you at what distance you zeroed your AK? Also, what size grouping did you get at that distance. I have tried to zero mine for 100 yards, but I still get approx 4" - 5" grouping. Therefore, I am considering dropping down to 75 yard zero. Please get back asap. Oh Yes, I am using Tula Ammo-122 gr. Thanks, James

:welcome: to the board Coln.

I just want to add that if you want a decent scope for the money, I suggest a good soviet block PSL type scope.

Ie: http://www.classicarms.us/accessories.htm - 2/3 the way down the page.

This particular one is $99 - but does not have the illuminated reticle - was illuminated by tritium or similar material originally. But it is built like a tank and the optics are decent. Also has good windage and elevation controls.

I currently have a 2-7 x39 on mine. with my eye sight it really helps past a 100 yards. It has the mill dot lighted cross. I also have a green laser for quick aiming closer in.http://www.gunsnet.net/photopost/data/500/mec
