That scope mounting system looks just plain awful. That is an example of accessories decreasing the toughness of your rifle.

I'd sell the scope and use the money to buy curtains and interior paint for my bedroom walls.

Yea you do have A point and your right but I just added the scope because I was taking Pictures.
But the scope work greatly and I hit the target dead center and around the rim.
But hey why not kill an enemy from A distance then have them closer to you?
I'll take more Pictures without scope soon and yes it does look and is Tough.

Scopes are cool.

I just recommend mil-spec mounting hardware or a scope meant for the AK series, such as the posp scopes. 1x optics are best for the AK IMO.

Welcome to Gunsnet!

I fixed the exposure on the 1st pic for ya so we can get a better idea of how the rifle looks. A low profile side mount would work better for a cheek weld. Just a suggestion.
Other wise, great looking rifle.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

Your WASR 10/63 is actually a parts-gun rebuilt in Romania using an ATF approved Romanian receiver that meets the ATF sporting purpose clause of the new second amendment. They then used parts from storage to build up the rifle. The date is the production date of the donor rifle, not the date your WASR was actually assembled for sale to those of us with rights that have been stomped all over.

That said, you have a nice rifle, and honestly I personally learned a long time ago how to shoot without welding my cheek to the rifle, which sounds really painful. Enjoy your scoped rifle as you like it, and not because someone else said they don't. We all have our own opinions and just because some disagree with you doesn't mean you are wrong.

Enjoy your rifle, and enjoy this site!!!!!

Thanks for the welcoming and information.
I received an information which said, "GP WASR-10/63 (Pistol Mitralieră 63) rifles which are being made from demilled military rifles. Look for a triangle with an arrow (some only have a triangle) on the front trunnion. Quality is much better with these." Is this true?

Hey their Son, you have yourself A nice Rifle there.
You have one hell of A 1972 Romanian GP WASR 10/63 Pistol Mitralieră 63 AKM.
Keep of hold of that as long as you can because that A one of A life time rifle that hard to come by and I know that not an variants because of the triangle with an arrow witch only A few of those were created are real blooded Mikhail Kalashnikov AK.
In my Vietnam days, I found an AKM off A dead viet cong with the Same Symbol with A triangle with an arrow on it. Who knows where the AK you have is from A viet cong, Russia, or from it origin Romania. Century arms had to add 12 U.S parts to meets it legal standers but it better because of it chrome piston and barrel which it can with stand corrosion. That the best cold war AKM that I had ever seen on this Forum.
I also admire how you have your AKM with A Bayonet, Ammo crate, Gas mask, Armor, and woodland camouflage. Don't let nobody push you or your Rifle down, you have A real Military AKM and don't you forget it my son.
I just would like to say that I'm 71 years old and fired many AK47/AKM and I rather trust my AKM out of my M16 any day.

Just want to say :welcome: to the board to both new members!

Stick around and make some more posts.

I have the underfolding version of that rommy - IMHO, they are a cut above the other WASR varients in quality due to being built on actual milspec kits.

Michigan, as said, a lower to the receiver scope mount will work better for you - to allow you to get a cheek weld on the buttstock.

Vietnam - just a point of clarification: the arrow/triangle is a symbol adopted by the romanians - I know what you are saying but in this case, it's a common stamp on the rommy guns.

I know that many here would love hearing more information on the vietnam war - especially in regards to ak's and sks's and such.
