Designed and ordered two Buck 110 Hunters through the Buck Custom Shop on 10/2/11. Got an email yesterday that they are on their way for a Friday delivery. I'm pleasantly surprised as the quoted lead time is 4-6 weeks.

This is my first time ordering from the custom shop so I'm anxious to see how the knives "in hand" compare to the image on the website when I designed/spec'ed them. One is probably going to be strictly a display piece but the other is intended strictly for EDC but should be easy on the eyes as well.

I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've been thinking about getting a custom 110 for my father on Christmas.

I have a limited edition, engraved and gold inlaid Buck 110. I really like it. Of course, I will never use it, but I enjoy looking at it.

Sounds like one of the "aurum etched" models. I picked this one up earlier this year.

Finally got my camera back so here are a few pics of my two custom shop 110's.

First one is finger grooved indigo wood with satin finish, S30V partially serrated blade and nickle bolsters. This one is something I will probably add to my EDC rotation.

This one is jibbed water buffalo with black oxide, 420HC blade and nickle bolsters and no rivets. I'll probably just display this one though the scales feel great in the hand.

I was debating on the second one between the black oxide blade or a mirror polish. Still not sure if I made the right choice but I do like it. Just not sure I might not like it better with the polished blade. Guess I can always just get another one or send this on back and swap the blade.

Anyway these are my first two custom shop orders and I'm very pleased. Will for sure be ordering some more. If you ever wanted a semi-custom blade without paying an arm and a leg check out the Buck Custom Shop. You might just find something you like.

Those look great! I like everything except the serrations.

The mirror polish might suit the nickle bolsters better, but black looks pretty handsome in its own right.

Thanks. I was on the fence about the serrations but I cut a lot of synthetic banding at work and I wanted to see if the partial serrations did a better job then a plain edge 110? The only other knife I have with serrations happens to also be a Buck 110. It's a build-out in ATS-34 from a recent Web Special offering. Been wanting to try it but since not very many were made I decided to keep it NIB and order this one from the custom shop. S30V and ATS-34 are different steels but the serrations are what I really wanted to try out. Now that I have it in hand though this custom model is pretty damn nice and putting it to use might be harder than I thought.
