However, there's another way to look at it...

Guy doesn't chew food well, a whole pea goes down the wrong pipe and sprouts...

What IF he had chewed that pea well and it went down the wrong pipe? Then, instead of sprouting, that material would have continued to decay and rot... at 75 years of age with Emphysema, that could have turned into pneumonia and killed him... one might argue that not chewing is what saved him?
