I bought some Radway Green Linked 308. and I delinked it (what a pain, so not worth the difference in cost!) but it has a sticky residual on the brass - any Idea what it is or if it is safe to shoot?

Yes it's safe to shoot. It is probably some form of lubricant really. 1919 ammo I've got made by Twin Cities ARsenal along with Santa Bararbara belt fed ammo both exhibited substances that normal non belt fed config ammo didn't seem to have. Delinking isn't hard really, especailly for M60 U shaped links. It's all about technique.

I have a can of that stuff as well that I am about half way delinking. It is a pain. Though my rounds aren't sticky.

I've noticed some sort of lube residue on partially delinked roadway, too. Might be something they picked up at century or overseas when removing the tracers from each can. In my lots of factory original 4B1T linked ammo, I've never encountered that kind of residue or stickiness.
