re-sizing avatar photos

I wanted to add this as my avatar, but it's too large. How do I re-size it to work?

The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

Bring it up in whatever photo editor you have and resize it down to fit those sizes.
