I thought I was doing pretty good hitting bowling pins at 200 yards. I need to find me a new set of eyeballs and a 300 yard range and try this. I wanna play, I mean I REALLY want to play.

And that 452 he's shooting is a "TINY" little youth gun!

Farthest I've had the chance to shoot is 200 yards. I can't promise anything like a group, but off hand with a .45 I can put em close enough that you wouldn't want to be standing where I was aiming.... Never fired a .22 past 100 yards though. Still, wouldn't want to be down range :D

Wow. There was some wind going on there too. I'd be hard pressed to shot .223 at 300 yds. consistently.

Good shooting for a .22LR

I got a Stevens 84C a few weeks back, i was shooting 200yds with it basically hitting a spot about the size of a trash can lid. has a weirdo weaver scope/ring setup.

I wonder if someone makes a Mil-dot .22lr scope

I've got a C452 American 17HMR... we were out at our campsight and the left side of the gun got scratched to hell! I contacted CZ, apparently they have replacement stocks for $125... but don't specifiy whether they come with the rubber butt pad installed or not.

Anyone have experience getting parts from CZ customer service?

its hard to tell from the video, but that gong is 16 foot across

Blow it up to large and look at the foliage around it. 24" maybe but no more than that. Add in the dust blowing away so fast from left to right means he was shooting in a pretty good crosswind. I like my chances at that target in good light and calm air, I'm not so sure I could do it in his shooting conditions and not with that gun.

if it's 16' wide... he's shooting one helluva round to kick up that much dirt. :D

300 yards is no problem, you just need a big scope.

Wonder how much hold over you have to use for a .22 LR at 300 yards? I once read an article in Guns & Ammo where the author was bench resting a NAA mini-revolver at 300 yards. The target was probably 10' tall x 10' wide. He hit it, no groups but got all his shots on paper.

here is a 12" gong at 300 yards

Not sure how much holdover those guys were doing but its about 10' at 225 yards so figure a bit more than that at 300 and then you have to take into account how much higher or lower you are from the target. Your bullet weight, bullet speed, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind direction, to much for this old dinosaur.

I'd have to just toss one out there and then walk it in.

Rubber butt pad on a .17 HMR? The only gun I have with a rubber butt pad is my 12 ga. My Garand and Winchester .32 WSP are both wood to metal to shoulder.

The rubber isn't for shock absorbing, it's for a non skid seat on your shoulder. Most of my guns still have the steel plate or the hard rubber pad and they can slip and slide if you aren't paying attention depending on what you are wearing and your shooting position.

Back in the late 70's, I traded for a BSA identical to this one with a 20x Unertl scope.

Eley ammo was used during this session.

At 100 yds, it just got boring hitting what you were aiming at.
At 150 yds., hitting the eyes of a steel silhouette turkey was no challenge at all.
At 200 yds, steel Ram heads presented no problem. I never had the opportunity to shoot it past 200 yds.
The BSA was probably the most accurate .22 I've owned.

That's the scope I have on my savage mk II. I can recommend a mildot scope for your .22 but I would go with a better brand than the centerpoint.

I have little doubt that I could hit at 300 yards with it, it would just take a good spotter for me to get dialed in.

I've got a Simmons AETEC 4-14x, but the cheap Centerpoint works good on a .22. I like the illuminated reticule.

My biggest problem with it is the field of view seems so small. I've warmed up to it a bit more since I've had it but still want to switch to something better.
