the tool looks to be quite the chore and the water thing....well i'm not sure i want to wet down my press just yet.
i think i'll mull the Berdan primer thing over for a while longer.

Water power! Yeah, berdans are a PITA and really not worth the trouble as long as there's so many boxer primed cases to be had... IMHO

it is a shame tho since i have close to 1000rds of GP11 that could be reloaded when the time comes. i found the die set at a show. it's a sucks to waste the brass.

That's one of those calibers that makes you even look at this. And yeah, 1000 pieces of good quality brass... hard for a frugal handloader to ignore!!

I tested out the water method a few minutes ago on some South African .308. Using a bolt & mallet, I was able to pop the primer out with no effort.
Do it outside on a warm day & it would go pretty fast. Add a couple of cold beers & it would go faster.

I feel same way about all the surplus .308 I have, but I just keep all the berdan brass and other junk cases I have in bucket/box then cash them in when I have a decent pile. Last time I cashed them in at $0.90/lb. Use that cash to buy more ammo :D.

That's been my trend too. I have been able to find boxer primed replacements for my hoard of berdan brass, so it all went to the recycler.
