Guns Network is still the best! The stamped one is a Sile, not Prochine. I had a Prochine, I'm still upset I sold that 9 years ago.
It took me 10 years to get that Legend, I never should have sold my first one. No matter how broke or down you are, NEVER sell your Legend!

That would be Norinco then right?

I still have one Legend left and hope to keep it. It's unfired with all the goodies and box.
My only other AK is the Prochine. I forgot I had it till I was going through things to sell.
It's my shooter and I still have a few rounds of Chinese to run through it.

One of my favorites since it still has the AK 47s marking

Nice Prochine! Mine had blonde furniture, had billboard writing on the side, and looked like a Polytech. Our guns look identical, just different importers.

Mine says AKM 47s, does that make it special?

That's a new one to me.
Special? maybe not to some I just like seeing it since everyone calls them that even though there really isn't such a thing.
It's more a matter of the age of the weapon. I see yours is a Norinco which came after Prochine which are both just front names. The akm 47 was earlier than the 56s so it's older and maybe a little more unique than the ones later. My Legend still says AK 47 if I remember right.
The Sile is just one of the importers mine is Sher wood (their spelling) out of Ca.

Just a matter of knowing when it was imported and the number of them that got in at the time as to value even though it seems if someone hasn't heard of them they pass it up so they may not get the price they deserve like a better known name.

I find it funny that as far as I know, the Chinese were the only ones to stamp an "AK" with a "47" on their rifles in an attempt to figure out what would sell in the land of "shall not be infringed". When they found out it was a media designation, they changed to the "56" that they used to designate the Automatic Kalashnikov. They then added the "S" to further designate it as a commercial rifle so as not to piss off ATF.

Too bad we had a couple of presidents that failed to uphold the constitution because it would really have been interesting to see what direction, and how many more variants would have come from China.

Again, nice photos of a nice part of Chinese and US history.

And in the interest in eye-candy, I give you this MAK-90 restored to it's Legend-ary beauty:

You can have the back of the receiver milled to accept a normal stock. I seen a conversion where it will accept a Yugo stock.
I also seen a conversion where they weld it back up, mill it out, then add the bottom tang.

I have the original manual, which is very crudely printed.
