I am guessing based on the ones here and what I think I caught a glimps of on the video is there is a lever that you pull towards you to lift the cart higher on its wheels and make it go faster. It you relese or let off the lever it lower the cart down on the track where your weight acts on the brakes.

How do they prevent one car from ass-ending the one in front of it. Surely they
are not expecting the riders to use brakes? If so, that kinda ride would not fly in the
USA because our general population is too fucking stupid to operate such a vehicle.
Lawsuits would shut that cool ride down the second day it opened.

This one looks more like a "luge" (bobsled) as you are down in a track/groove. The first one is more like a monorail.
