Picked up a set of Buck bone 300 series knives at an online auction yesterday. A 301 Stockman, 305 Lancer and a 309 Companion all NIB from about 1991. Don't see the Buck Bone much and getting three model NIB was too much for me to pass up.

Picked up two of the Buck holiday gift tins that Walmart has. They are a Boone and Crocket set with a 482 Bucklite Max and a 425 Buck Mini. Pretty sweet for $20. Already broke one open for use. Will probably keep the other back as a collectible. Walmart is supposed to have another holiday tin set with a wood scaled Buck Nobelman and a 425 Mini but my local store didn't have that one.

Also picked up two of the Kershaw Crowns Walmart has for $10 each. A blue handle model in the blister pack and a black scaled model in a box. Not a bad little knife though I don't care for the retainer style pocket clip. It pinches the fabric so you have to lift the end of the clip to slide if off your pocket but for $10 it's a nice stocking stuffer.

Figure the black on will go in my son inlaws stocking and the blue one in mine. I've got a couple of models on preorder but those probably won't come out until next year so this might be all my knife buying to this Christmas.

Anyone else trating themselves or others to a knife this holiday season?

Unfortunately shetler and food are numero uno on my christmas list this year. (Thankful for those simple blessings!)

Friends and fam will have to do with home made cards and well wishes, but if I was gifting, a set like this would go to my sweety:

She's a very special woman. ;)

Personally, I wouldn't mind if santa dropped these down the chimminey:

But those will have to wait till I get my shiznit together. Priorities, mang.

OK, maybe I'm not done just yet. I love M4 steel, Bob Lum desgns, and Benchmades. Though I'm not a big fan of tanto style blades the Benchamde 760 LFTi has been on my short list for a few years now. Found a pretty good deal on a plain edge for $175 so I may add another knife to this holdiay seasons purchases.

Picked up a Buck 110 for my son based mostly on Mr. Simmons' recommendation. :wootrock:

Excellent choice! Perhaps the most iconic American made knife still in production. They are highly addictive though. I think I've added 4 or 5 more since this photo was taken not to mention 3 Model 112 Rangers.

I'm giving myself a knife like my mother and grandmother used for years. I remember using it to cut up meats when I was living at home. Although it's not an expensive piece of cutlery ($25), but it is a superb knife for what it is intended. It holds an edge very well, as it is tempered 1095 carbon steel.

Ontario Knife Company makes this knife but has recently screwed it up by making the blade thinner and not branding 'Old Hickory' on the handle and a couple other things I can't recall at the moment. I found the old version on Ebay.

The one I bought.
