hey guys, i'm looking for a reasonably priced, decent quality double edged boot knife. by reasonable i'd like to not go more than $50-$75.

i saw a Smith & Wesson model for like $13 but wonder about it's quality.

suggestions?

Forget about S&W. Their knives are crap.

For the money the best boot knife, IMHO is this one by Zero Tolerance

You might find it cheaper but probably not for $75 or less though Kershawguy on Bladeforums sells a lot of blems and might have one. Even if he dosen't his prices on new Kershaw and Zero Tolerance knives pretty much can't be beat, neither can his service.

Another one I'd offer is this HD which is also make by Kershaw.

This one is also Kershaw and is in your price range though I have no experience with it. Even made in China I'd not hesitate to get it since it's a Kershaw and Jeff at Cutlery Shoppe is top notch.

I got all of mine from Smokey Mountain Knife Works they were on sale at the time so I paid about 25-35 each I think for the Cold Steel.I do not remember where the Kershaw came from, might have been a former room mate or something like that.

They are easy to make...but illegal to carry.

I just carry a regular folding knife in my boot, A Benchmade folder that I found on the ground. Whomever lost it had mangled the edge though, so I don't feel bad about keeping it.

My brother gave me a high quality boot knife for helping him move.....I was going out to the lake to take a swim and cool off after helping him move in 90 degree weather.....a little village you go through before you get to the lake the barny fife cop pulled me over for speeding going out of the village...35 in a 25....he spotted the knife that I had just tossed in the car window and confiscated it.....sucked....it was double edged which is a no no here.
