The week before last I was at the range and there was a guy shooting his PSL and the bolt locked open after the last round.

I did not know that these rifles did that or is this an after market add on?

Same basic design as the SVD. Just make sure the hold open pin is secure, there have been a few isolated problems in the past with the pin falling out.

I'm thinking of getting one soon.I have shot them a few times but never knew they would lock open on the last round.

Before you drop a $100 on the four mags and pouch from J&G check out the AK Files thread about the five pocket, 10 mag chest rig. Wish I had.

The prices have come down on these - I used to own one.... it was nice. There's a special going on the mags somewhere... CDNN I think? Like $18/mag? Pretty good price.

I've got a good quantity of quality 7.62x54 light ball.... and the new stuff is still pretty reasonably priced, so these make a lot of sense if you're in the market for a "squad marksman" type rig.

Definately buy the mags from anyone but J&G. I paid 750 for mine a couple of years ago and the extra mags were way overpriced, i think they're down to 600 or less now for the rifle with the scope

I'm leaning toward selling off my MPA 9mm carbine with the 11 sten mags to fund a PSL buy and mags.

I want to get a PSL that has the lug intact though.I saw that Centerfire Systems is selling a PSL without scope for $499.99 anyone know a better source?

i just wish the 12 round galil mags were still around so i could make more mags for my .308 psl.

My understanding is many of the kits that came in were missing the BHO parts.
A factory Romanian built will have it.

I got lucky then, my Centerfire kit had them.

Just saw a new Century PSL at our local Cabela's. Looked it over, and there was no BHO to found. I didn't even look at the PT. Without that small, but essential little piece of engineering, I will pass. I've had 3 of them in the past, and with the receiver built by Harlan, it can't be ALL bad. But the lack of the BHO was a show-stopper for me. That PSL 54C I had to send back because someone couldn't weld worth a shit still irritates me to no end.
