Hi everyone. My name is Jason and I am from Memphis, TN. I just got my first AK-47 last week. It is a Romanian WASR 10/63. I have put a little over 100 rounds through it so far and I love it. I am friends with a local firearms instructor and he has shown me some things about how to run an AK efficiently. Here is a pic of my new baby. I named her "Olga".

i have grown up around firearms my whole life so it is not new to me, but this platform is. I hope to learn a lot from all you guys here.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

Nice rifle you have there.

Just want to warn you that AK variants are highly addictive!!! You can't have just one! :D

Yea, Welcome to the dark side Jason......So...When are you getting your next AK?
C'mon, I know you're thinking about it. You can't keep them together because they
seem to multiply on there own.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I will be holding off on another AK for a little while. Going to take a rifle class next month that will have me going through 500 rounds of rifle ammo and 100 rounds of pistol ammo in about an 8 hour period, so my money right now will be going toward buying ammo and some other gear.

I also am considering changing the wood out on my hand guards and put synthetic on it. Any suggestions?

Welcome... to the addiction.

If you go with synth, make sure it has a heat shield. AKs can catch wood on fire and melt plastic under rapid fire. Don't worry though it takes several hundred rounds.

It won't be long until that AK breeds and you find yourself feeding two or more... ;)
