Kind of fitting to buy a modern 1911 as the last gun of 2011 :anim_beer-1:

Don't shoot it. You'll get it all dirty. It's purdy.

Congrats!

Meant to say "last gun of 2011" in the title :slap:

MSRP is $1,213.00. Places like Cabela's are asking just below 12 hundred. got it from my local guy under 1k.

I wonder what JMB would think about his design still selling 100 years later?

The same question has crossed my mind a few times this year.

Think of the changes he saw in firearms from 100 years before his time, literally from flintlock to full auto. Yet in 100 years since he'd still see the 1894, the 1911 and M98 mauser based sporting rifles still being sold in large numbers today...

Very nice. 4 mags is a nice touch.

That thing looks pretty. I would be tempted to add one to my 1911 stable.

Very smooth looking pistol. Those Germans sure do it right, I love my HK. Would like to see a range report when you have the time. I've been considering on adding that exact same type of pistol to my collection. Happy new year.

Did angels sing in the background the first time you opened the box? Beautiful pistol!

I'm pretty excited about it... :) Almost went for that threaded model, but figured if I ever went for a can it would be a 9mm or a .22.

Update: I did finally shoot it. It is sweet! Just Win white box ball ammo for now, no issues, accurate too.

Well it is kind of cute for a gun and I sort of read some very good things about this gun from various gun rags I subscribe to. Don;t take this wrong but their is something terribly wrong with this picture.

You were going to shoot it and show us how it shoots weren't you?

I ended up just shooting some targets that somebody else left on the back board as the whole thing was about to fall over... nice to see the club spend money on what counts, this is after a substantial increase in membership dues.
Shot the Bretta M92A1 and the HiStandard .22 revolver I picked up from a buddy of mine.

Well that's a little better. How did it shoot, how did it feel in your hand. is it a natural fit or is it going to take some time to get in sync with it?
