Gonna defang my MAK 90 into a Type 56 Spiker. I know a guy who has a FSB and spike bayonet. He wants $300.

Is it worth it? What's the market value for them?

the FSB itself is a little over $200 now.

If it has the proper Bayo it's worth it.

...probably "worth" it, since they're rare as hens teeth.

I have an idea. I purchased an SKS FSB. I'm going to cut the ears and have a good welder put it on my Polytech Spiker. I refuse to pay 200 for that.

FUcking Clinton!

Actually I believe both Bush1 and clinton are to blame. Bush1 for banning the underfolding bayo installed on the imported rifle, and clinton for banning the importation of Chinese AK parts.

And yes, these days what used to be under $50 for the whole assembly is now $250 and up. When David Keng was running his Poly Tech Parts, he was selling the bayo by itself for either $10 or $12. The current owner of the parts company is now selling the same bayo for near $80.

Exactly. That was 89, not 94.

Now the next question is, how much is it gonna cost me to get the FSB blued, installed, and the muzzle threaded?

Muzzle threading shouldn't be more than 50-80 bucks depending on who does it, but I would rent the kit from someone.

Used to be a guy on here named jpm? jphm? He would rent the tap and die for 30 bucks. Me and a guy bought one at work and did all our AK's then turned it for what we paid for it. Check around and see. The kits are so easy to do yourself. It will line up for you, use some oil, and thread your own. Piece o' cake. I promise. Anyone can do it. Just got to remember those threads are left handed.

Got the FSB from the guy. Talked him down to $250 because it was white and it would cost me to get it blued.

This should fit on the MAK 90?

He has another one for sale. Could this fit my BWK-92? Common sense tells me the .223 barrels are smaller than the 7.62x39 barrels. It would be cool to "Spike" up all my post ban Chicoms.

Hey Imanaknut,

Will the FSB with the bayonet lug and bayonet I got online fit on to my BWK 92 barrel?

By luck I happened to have both a barrel from a Norinco 84S and a complete MAK-90 in 7.62x39 within inches of me, and the barrel under the front sight on the 84S measured .600, the MAK-90 measured .605.

Depending on the inner diameter of the sight/bayo combo, it might be a loose fit, which might allow it to work.

The only issue I can see is the last Norinco 84S that I removed the front sight from, it required a special tool to fit around the front sight, and a 10 ton press. Made a nice bang when it finally let go!!

Not saying they are all that way, because I did have one AK variant that the front sight just slid off by hand after driving the cross pins out, although I believe that was a Romanian CUR 2.
